Mary established Fox Linton Associates in the early 1970's to work solely on interior architectural projects, having undertaken large private residences both in the U.K and abroad in partnership with David Hicks followed by shops, department stores and the restoration of historical houses.

In the nineties, Mary, in collaboration with hotelier Gordon Campbell Gray, created the award winning design of One Aldwych in London setting the standard for the look of 5 star boutique hotels around the world. Fox Linton Associates have built a world class reputation for hotel design and the name is associated with some of the most iconic luxury hotels of recent times.

Mary, who has been often described by the media as the "Grande Dame of Groovy" has received numerous awards over the years including the Lifetime Achievement award from Architectural Digest and the Royal Oak Foundation's Timeless Design Award; "To recognise outstanding individual achievement in American/British interior design and to celebrate American and British icons". Most recently Mary received the BIID Merit Award for her outstanding contribution to the field of Interior Design.
